[ Noah will rest his hand on his thigh, palm-up so Adam can take smarties as he pleases. They won't melt against Noah's cold skin. ]
Not much. [ Apart from watching Gansey and Ronan go to and return from school, Monmouth and the surrounding area had been quiet, boringly so. He tips his head to the side and looks at Adam. ] You probably saw more interesting things at work.
[ It's a quiet attempt at trying to get Adam to talk about his day. Noah doesn't think he does it enough. ]
Not really. [ He lifts one shoulder and lets it drop. ] The car I helped fix last week came back. Same problem. But they're not smart enough to listen to the advice I give so it'll probably be back next week too.
I helped Blue walk her dogs too. That was less annoying. There's a pug now.
[ He starts to sort the small collection of smarties in his hand into smaller clusters according to color. He flashes a sympathetic frown. ] I think more people need to listen to you.
[ Noah will brighten at the mention of the dogs, though. ] A pug? She didn't tell me! [ He imagines Adam trying to tug an exuberant, chubby pug back with the leash, Blue shaking her head next to him, and grins. ] That's amazing. Better than amazing.
[ He ducks his head a little. It's something he tells himself all the time but doesn't really consider anyone will believe. Talk about dogs is much safer, considering. ]
It has a mind of it's own. [ Noah is pretty much right, Adam was stuck dealing with a puppy that wanted to smell everything. ] Cute though, comes from a family with eight year old twins. They wanted to join us but they had homework. Probably for the best, my dignity wouldn't have survived.
